Insights from my Internship: Listening, Understanding and Creating
My internship at inloop is slowly coming to an end. Six months full of new impressions, exciting challenges and valuable experiences lie behind me. I was able to learn a lot – both professionally and personally. For me, inloop stands for dynamism, know-how and true team spirit. I’d like to share five learnings that had a lasting impact on me.
Learning 1: Learning starts with listening
I’ve learned how powerful active listening can be. Simply by observing and following conversations in the office, I was able to build a deep understanding of complex topics and contexts. Even when I wasn’t directly involved, I could benefit from the experiences and perspectives of my colleagues. That impressed me again and again.
Learning 2: Team spirit you can feel
To me, inloop is a place where collaboration is truly lived. Whether in meetings, on projects or casually in the kitchen – communication was always open, warm and supportive. I experienced how essential mutual appreciation and trust are to make things happen together. It was inspiring to see how close and easy teamwork can be.
Learning 3: Knowledge grows through practice
No two days were the same – and that was exactly what made it so great. I had the chance to dive into topics I had only heard about in theory. Supply chain, S&OP processes, supply chain regulations – all made tangible through real projects and amazing colleagues. This hands-on learning showed me how much more is possible when theory meets real-life application.
Learning 4: Every project follows a process
I got to experience how a consulting project takes shape – from the first idea, through planning and execution, to evaluating the results. Every step is backed by structure, experience and a lot of communication. These insights gave me a realistic and holistic view of consulting work that goes far beyond what textbooks teach.
Learning 5: Variety builds courage
I was able to try out many different things – from data analysis and slide creation to researching new topics. Time and again, I had to immerse myself in new fields. That taught me how important flexibility is in everyday work – and it gave me the confidence to tackle the unfamiliar.
My conclusion:
I’m incredibly grateful for this time. For the openness, the trust and the honest collaboration. I was able to grow, take responsibility and experience what it means to stay curious and have a great team by your side. This internship not only enriched me professionally – it showed me how I want to work.
We truly enjoyed working with you, dear Amelie!
